10% OFF on all Iaito
In Japan, May is often considered the best month of the year. The weather is lovely, warm but not too hot and humid yet, and blessed with one week holidays at the beginning of the month (Golden Week). Early May, Japanese families traditionally hang Koinobori (carp-shaped windsocks) from their homes to honor their sons, a very strong tradition in Japan that leads to Koinobori flying everywhere adding much color and joy to the cities. It is said in Japan that the "Koi carp" is the most spirited fish, so full of energy and power that it can fight its way up swift-running streams and cascades. Because of its strength and determination to overcome all obstacles, it stands for courage and the ability to attain high goals.
We are witnessing a never seen before interest for Iaido all over the world. Iai is indeed a good choice under covid crisis restrictions as it can be practice while perfectly respecting social distancing. With the beginning of the school year in Japan our workshops (both Minosaka and Jisei) have slightly raised their prices (first time in years), and acknowledging that it is not the best timing for it, we've decided to offset this price revision by offering 10% OFF on ALL Iaito in May.
We hope that this offer will help all new Iaido adepts to gear up at a more affordable price, not compromising with quality and acquiring the best of Japanese craftsmanship.
This offer will end on May 31st, 3 pm JPT.

Normal operation will resume on Thursday 6th.
Please also note that orders containing products which are order-made or out of stock might suffer a delay of about 2 weeks if their production/preparation time includes the Golden Week. This delay is taken into account by our system and the date indicated at checkout stays accurate.

April report
After a nice April fool, offering you to buy a (fake) "DIY" Bokken plank, we got back to work as usual with:
- We released a big technical update that allows us to display our stock availability on some products with low stock and long production time. With our excellent logistic we used to think that such information was not very useful for our customers, but with the current situation at the wooden weapon workshop, things have changed and we believe that this new feature will make things much clearer for you.
- Publication of a new interview in the "Budo, a way of life" series: Baptiste Tavernier, Budo & Art
- Publication of a video of a Aikido Buikukai training sessions with Kimura Jiro Shihan from the footage we took when we interviewed Kimura Shihan a few years ago.
- We also shot two more interviews:
For our "Budo, a way of life" series, a discussion with Jessica Gerrity, New Zealander, living and practicing Kyudo in Japan and very often featured on Japanese TV and various promotional programs.
And getting back to our "masters" interviews series, an interview with Yui and Hiroyuki Yashiro Sensei from Bugeido MUSUBI, a practice at the crossing of Art and Budo, at their Dojo in Tama.
Those interviews will be published during the summer.
That's it for this month, enjoy the discounts, and see you soon on SeidoShop.com!
